Imphal, July 21 2014: Under the initiation of the Minority and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) Department, a remedial coaching centre for the minority students was opened on July 20 at Khabeisoi Khabi Primary School, Imphal east District.

Dr Ng Bijoy, MLA, Khurai Assembly Constituency; Md Salaudin Khan, Project Director, Minority and OBC Economic Development Society (MOBEDS); Md Nurjaman, Pradhan, Kairang Khomidok Gram Panchayat, attended the inaugural function of the coaching centre as the Chief guest, President and Guest of honour respectively.

The coaching centre inaugurated today is for classes VI-X students.

Altogether, 17 remedial coaching centres for six months will be initiated by MOBEDS under the sponsorship of MOBC out of which 8 centres will impart the coaching classes for students from VI-X standards while 5 of them for XI and XII standards.

Dr Ng Bijoy speaking during the programme asserted that wisdom is an individual's strength and education is a must for everyone in order to enhance one's wisdom and knowledge.

He also added that parents should encourage their children to attend the coaching classes and avail the opportunities to learn and excel.

Md Salaudin Khan stated that of all the projects undertaken MOBEDS, the remedial coaching centre project is the most successful initiative.

He also assured that teachers and co-ordinators assigned in the coaching centres will be scrutinized strictly in case they fail to perform their duties.

He further added that the project was undertaken to provide students an excellence in the field of education and a successful platform in future.
