Security forces arrest 7 UGs in State

Imphal, March 20 2012:
Red shield Division achieved another success in their anti insurgency drive wherein units of the Division were successful in apprehending six UGs from different parts of Manipur.
A PIB DW statement informed that in a joint operation carried out by troops of 5/9 Gorkha Rifles and 1/11 Gorkha Rifles of the Division in Tangjeng Makha Lekhai Ward No 10, they apprehended one OGW of KCP (MC) namely Laishran Kartik s/o L Luthon Meitei of Tangjen Makha Leikai, Bishnupur district.
He was handed over to Moirang Police Station.
In another operation carried out by 5 Assam Rifles in general Area Karaong resulted in the arrest of one NSCN (IM) cadre today.
He was identified as Self Styled Lt Aayo Tangkhul s/o Shangpong of Kachai village, Ukhrul.
He was handed over to Imphal West Police Station.
In similar incident, troops of 43 Assam Rifles of the Division apprehended two KNF (P) cadres from gerenal area of Kanglatungbi.
They were identified as Paolet alias Galngam s/o Haokholam and Seilen Vaiphei s/o Paojalhun both from Saparmeina, Senapati.
One 7.65 mm Pistol was recovered from their possession.
They were handed over to Police Station Sekmai.
Troops of 22 Assam Rifles of the Division apprehended a UNLF cadre in Dholakhal area.
He was identified as Self Style Cpt Khwairakpam Amit alias Kulajit s/o Late Kh Koireng of Dholakhal.
He was handed over to Bada Bekra Police Station.
In yet another joint operation carried out by troops of 38 Assam Rifles and 46 Assam Rifles of the Division, two KNA cadres suspected to be drug peddlers from Tuibong Bazar, Churachadpur district were arrested.
The cadres were identified as Self Styled Pvt Thnaoba alias John and Self Styled Pvt Thangminlun, both from Tuibong Bazar.
One AK 47 Rifle and Cash Rs 6,41, 200/were recovered from their possession.
The apprehendees were handed to Imphal West Police Station, added the PIB DW statement.
Meanwhile, troops of 37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector and 18 SIKH of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) apprehended one UNLF cadre during a search operation launched at Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai today, informed a statement of PRO IGAR (S) .
The apprehendee was identified as Self Styled Sgt Major Kshetrimayum Loichangba (32) alias Amarjeet (Army No 1537) s/o Ksh Maipak of Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, Imphal.
One 9 mm Pistol with magazine, four 9 mm live rounds, two mobile phones, two laptops, one external hard disc and one digital camera were recovered from the apprehendee.
He along with the recoveries were handed over to Lamphel Police station, added the release.
In another incident, a PREPAK cadre was also arrested today around 11.5am from Dighali Pukhri.
He is identified as H Nongkhomba alias Nonglei (39) son of Chalukal of Kongba Kshetri Leikai.
