Siile Anthony opens conference of KNST Union

The Conference Session of the KNST Union under the theme "Youthful innovation & peaceful co-existence" was opened by Kh Siile Anthony, Director, HRD & E, NEC, Shillong, Govt of India as the chief guest in the presence of Hanjabam Bobby Sharma, SDO, Senapati as the guest of honour and K Holison Raomai, Executive Member, ADC, Senapati as the chief patron at Ngatan village.
Welcoming the guests and all the delegates to the conference, Vikui Emerson, Principal and proprietor of Saklim English School said that the programme is conducted after a gap of more than 30 years.
He continued that KNST union comprised of 11 villages namely, Khamsom, Khamsom Huphii, Khabung Khunou, Khabung Upper, Khabung Lower, Ngatan, Sorbung, Taklung, Tingsong Khunou, Tingsong centre and Tingsong Khullen.
RL Tennyson Rao, President, KNST Union said that it is the first conference of the Union with an aim to bring reformation, unification and all round development in the area.
Formerly, it was known as Southern Lepaona Union Sports Association and had organized many sports meet in the past, he added.
Hanjabam Bobby Sharma, SDO, Senapati appreciated the organizers for bringing together the different villages of the area with an aim to unify them for common good.
Speaking as chief guest, Siile Anthony wondered to see the love and unity among the people of the region and said that it is important to have unity, the spirit of respect and love for each other.
Respecting and loving each other is the most enjoyable thing on earth, he added.
The chief guest asked the gathering to call the Kuki brethren too in the coming programme so that all the people of the area can grow up together like a peaceful family, village and society.
He also stressed on the importance of preserving the environment to the garnering and urged the public to stop killing of wild animals for better tomorrow.
Different games and cultural competitions will be held in the next two days.
