Painting competition held as part of month long observance of Hijam Irabot's birth anniversary

As a part of month long observance of our torchbearer "Hijam Irabot" on the occasion of his 122nd birth anniversary, Irabot Celebration Committee Manipur and Konthoujam Local Council jointly organized Irabot memorial function at Kangmong Langoljam Maning Leikai Community hall in Konthoujam AC today.
Floral tributes and respect was paid to the late leader while a painting competition was also held to paint the portrait of Irabot.
The painting competition saw participation from 42 students from various schools of Manipur who were divided into two categories - Class I to Class VI and Class VII to Class X.In the Class I -VI Junior Category, Y Lanchenbi Devi of St John English High School secured the first position, Thoithoiba of The learner's Academy settled at second position while Paheli Nongthongbam of Kid's Foundation finished at third position.
Whereas in the Class VII-X Senior Category, Ribirthson M of Wangkhei High School secured the first position, Lairenjam Abhijit Singh of Bethal English School stood second position while Irom Bidyalakshmi Devi of The learner's Academy settled at third position.
During the function, a book based on Irabot peace song, written by Kunjo Ningombam and published by Konthoujam Local Council Communist Party of India was also released.
Secretary CPI State Council L Sotinkumar Singh, President All Manipur Nupi Marup M Shakhi, CPI Veteran Member Irom Kuber and Thokchom Yaima attended the function as presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, State Secretary L Sotinkumar Singh explained the contributions made by Hijam Irabot for the people of Manipur.
President All Manipur Nupi Marup M Shakhi said that lauded the various role played by the leader Hijam Irabot for the betterment of Manipuri society.
