Training programme under Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan held

Chandel, June 19 2018:
A one day training programme on 'Bee Keeping, Mushroom Cultivation, Nutritional Gardening and Soybean cultivation' under 'Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan' was conducted today at Lambung village, Chandel.
Dr IM Singh, Joint Director, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre gave the welcome and keynote address.
Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture), Government of Manipur Letkhogin Haokip, IAS emphasized the importance of farmers participation in any development programmes taken up by the Government in achieving double income and sustaining livelihood.
Krishna Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel explained the Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan and the role of district administration and line departments in bridging the gap between the villagers and the departments.
He encouraged the farmers to approach any concerned departments including his office for availing Government schemes.
Dr K Mandharan, Director, Jute, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India and Nodal Officer, CSS Scheme for North Eastern States shared his happiness over the cooperation and coordination extended by the State Government, district administration and line departments.
Director of Agriculture, PH Rajendra Singh highlighted various projects and schemes for the farmers and urged them to come forward and participate for successful implementation of the various Government policies.
The programme was participated by Dr Deepak Singh, Senior Scientist, KVK Chandel, Kh Surchandra Singh, Joint Director, District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Chandel, Ts Gladny Monsang, District Agriculture Officer, Chandel and Honey Chara, District Officer, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Chandel.
In the training Session, Dr N Johnson Singh, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK Churachandpur spoke on bee keeping, K Lily Rangnamei, SMS (Horticulture), KVK Imphal West on Mushroom Cultivation, Gunamani Singh, SMS (Plant Breeding), KVK Imphal West on Seed production while Dr KI Levis Chongloi, ACTO (Agronomy), KVK Chandel spoke on scientific cultivation of soybean and Nutritional Gardening.
