TKSU warns to shut down all Government offices in Ccpur

Ccpur, August 18 2018:
In a statement issued by the Thadou Kuki Students' Union (TKSU), General Headquarters, it has been alleged that TKSU is awestruck by the failure of the Government of Manipur to address the plights and sentiments of the Kukis regarding the demand of the removal of the Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur since the past one week.
In the statement, it is mentioned that TKSU resorted to its first form of agitation in collaboration with other Kuki CSOs of the District and has shut down the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur for the past few days.
The statement also informed that TKSU and its parent bodies has resolved to close down all the Government offices of Ccpur district from Monday - August 20 as the State Government is not paying any heed to their demands while cautioning the staff or employees of various Government departments not to attend their offices.
It may be mentioned that TKSU has been spearheading the agitation in the interest of the Kuki Community after Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur showed disrespect to the General Strike called by the Kuki Inpi Manipur on August 8, added the statement.
In the statement, TKSU warned that if the State Government still fails to respond to the demand of the Kukis, TKSU in collaboration with other Kuki CSOs of the District would be forced to launch a more intense form of agitation including general strike or total shutdown starting from the midnight of August 22 to midnight of August 24 in Churachandpur District.
The statement also stated that medical emergencies and media persons would be exempted from the purview of the general strike/total shutdown.
