Governor Dr Najma Heptulla expressed happiness over the donation and appealed to all the people within or beyond the State to come forward and extend their possible aid to the flood victims.
The Governor stated that the donation may not cover much as compared to damage caused by the flood but the small gestures signify the care for the people who are suffering and that the people of the State are with them at this moment of disaster and suffering.
The Governor further stated mat the State administration including the Chief Minister and his Cabinet are physically involved in rehabilitating the flood victims by setting up relief camps, distributing essential commodities like food and medicines.
It is worth mentioning that the State has been badly affected by the flood due to heavy rainfall in the past few days causing loss of homesteads, livestock and damaging roads.
It may be mentioned that the donation came in after the appeal made by the Governor to donate one day's salary for the flood victims in the State.
