Gaan-Ngai celebrated at Heigrujam Kabui Khul

Imphal, January 18 2022: United Committee Manipur (UCM) President Joychandra Konthoujam partook in the Gaan-Ngai celebration held at Heigrujam Kabui Khul today.

Joychandra Kh extended Gaan-Ngai greetings to the people gathered, wishing them all a prosperous, healthy, peaceful life with the arrival of the biggest post-harvest festival.

He stressed on the importance of all ethnic groups in the State to preserve their traditions and customs and added that this will present our identity to the rest of the world.

The old customs left behind by our forefathers all carry a deep meaning within them, he stated.

The UCM President also expressed the sentiment of brotherhood and for all ethnic groups to live in harmony.

It may be noted that UCM members distributed 10 blankets to the elders of the locality and footballs and volleyballs to the youths as a part of the celebration.
