Bomb attack at Khashim Vashum's residence condemned

Senapati, September 17 2024: The Naga People's Front, Manipur State Unit, All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM), Naga People's Organization (NPO), Senapati and Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) have strongly condemned the heinous act of detonating an explosive device at the residence of Khashim Vashum, Minister, Transport, Vety & Animal Husbandry on the night of September 14 at Hamleikhong, Ukhrul.

Denouncing the "dastardly act of cowardice" as aimed to "disturb the peaceful environment in the district headquarters", NPF said that the party believes that violence and shedding of innocent bloods is never an acceptable means to resolve differences by disowning dialogue through mutual understanding.

While extending solidarity to the Minister and his family, NPF has appealed to everyone to shun violence at this crucial juncture.

Stating that it was "appalled by the dreadful act", ANSAM has urged the concerned authorities to investigate the matter and deliver justice by giving befitting punishment to the perpetrators as per the law of the land.

In their condemnation, NPO Senapati said that differences in opinion should be resolved through proper dialogue and negotiation, not through violence.

It urged the law enforcing authorities to conduct a thorough investigation, and deliver exemplary punishment to those responsible for such a despicable crime.

Meanwhile, stating that the incident has created confusion and uncertainty in the midst of the volatile situation prevailing in the State, SDSA has demanded befitting action against the culprits.
