10 Sector AR celebratoes 27th Raising Day

Imphal, September 17 2012: HQ 10 Sector Assam Rifles celebrated its 27th Raising Day with a lot of zeal and fervour on 15-16 Sep 12 at Somsai, Ukhrul .

The raising of HQ 10 Sector AR commenced initially at Agartala on 15 Sep 86 and the HQ moved to Jorhat on 14 Oct 87 .

The HQ finally moved to Somsai, Ukhrul, its present location in Dec 87 .

The fete was inaugurated by Brig A K Pandey, VSM, Commander10 Sector AR.

The fete was followed by a social interaction hosted by 10 Sector which was attended by AR and civilian dignitaries including Major Gen U K Gurung, YSM, IG AR(S), Mr R Sudhan(DC Ukhrul) and Mr Kabib(SP Ukhrul).

The IG congratulated the Sector on its Raising Day and for its accomplishments and wished the Sector success for its future endeavours.

During the celebrations, Troupe of Dance and Drama Division, Imphal performed a cultural program for the troops and families of 10 Sector.

Brig A K Pandey, VSM complimented the troupe for its very impressive and smart skills and art.

It is noteworthy to mention that 10 Sector AR has been instrumental in maintaining peace in the Ukhrul District and along the 150 Km International Boundary with Myanmar.

The sector has also accolade itself with realistic perception management programme.

It has been the endeavour of sector to maintain peace and harmony, empower youth, promote healthy relations with locals and civil administration.
