Imphal, February 15 2016: Manipur Legislative Assembly Member L Ibomcha Singh has stated that a special award would be announced soon for the four NPF MLAs who have reportedly tendered their resignations while still enjoying all the benefits entitled to an MLA like monthly salary, TA-DA, POL quota etc. The MLA made the statement in reaction to Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang who reportedly lauded the four NPF MLAs for tendering their resignation in protest against the three Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly for protection of indigenous people. Commenting on the controversy over the eligibility criteria notified by MPSC for holding Manipur civil services examination, a press release issued by the MLA urged the concerned authorities to rectify the criteria in the interest of the native people of Manipur.
