Backward runner wraps up 1st phase of campaign

Thoubal, October 14 2024: Backward runner and Youtuber Kiran Meitei Konthoujam has announced the end of first phase of his long distance backward running campaign while simultaneously declaring that he will continue the campaign in other states outside Manipur.

He made the announcement during a felicitation ceremony held in his honour at Rice Research Centre Khangabok Relief Camp today.

It is worth noting that Kiran's campaign was flagged off from this relief camp on July 26, 2024 with the demand to restore peace in Manipur.

During the campaign, he passed through many Meitei inhabited regions of Assam and Tripura.

The felicitation ceremony was graced by meira paibi leaders of Khangabok village and volunteers of various local clubs.

Expressing joy upon being felicitated by the relief camp inmates, Kiran said that he will continue his backward running campaign in Delhi and other states until the Indian Government acknowledges the demands of the people.

Additionally, he assured to continue raising his voice for the displaced folks suffering in relief camps.

Kiran also expressed his gratitude to the public for extending support to his long distance backward running campaign.

Later, the gathering shouted slogans such as "Long live Manipur", "Territorial integrity of Manipur cannot be compromised", and "Uproot narco-terrorism from the State" .
