IPAK appeals Government

IPAK (Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak) Manipur has appealed Government to take up strict measures to contain the coronavirus outbreak and its impact.
Asserting that the a majority of the people of Manipur have failed to grasp the seriousness and the danger of the disease, IPAK said that people are flouting lockdown in all parts of State due to lack of proper awareness and seriousness.
Urging Government to disseminate awareness on COVID-19 more successfully and people to follow the COVID-19 guidelines strictly, IPAK raised that there is going to be a huge impact on students due to the lockdown.
Government should take up all possible measures and set up ways to educate the students at their homes.
TV channels and other media should be used to teach the students amidst the lockdown, it said adding Government and authorities concerned to produce appropriate educational content and programmes for the students.
Further, bringing in of nonessential items in the State such as tobacco and tobacco products should be stopped and banned effectively during the lockdown, IPAK said urging Government to take up strict legal actions against individuals involved in such activities.
