Imphal, October 13 2012: RKCS Art Gallery today celebrated the 88th birth anniversary of RK Chandrajitsana Singh, the founder of the Gallery and a pioneering figure in the field of painting art.

The celebration held at the RKCS Art Gallery Complex, Keishamthong was marked by offering of floral tributes at his photo and distribution of prizes to position winners of the 4th Painting Competition.

Malemnganba Waikhom of Shishu Nishtha Niketan, Artita Moirangthem of Maria Montessori and Wangthoi Angom of Eden Public school respectively bagged the first, second and third position in Group A competition for students of class III to V.In Group B (Cl VI-VIII) the top three prizes were won by Yumnam Rahul Singh of Blooming School, Sougaijam Santosh Singh of Grace Academy, Kakching and Ayekpam Tanubala of Little Flower School.

Naoroibam Anand Singh of EK Higher Secondary, Asem Indrajit of Brilliant Public School and RK Ajayraj of Don Bosco School were the top three position winners in Group C (Cl IX-XII).

Five participants in each of the group were also awarded consolation prizes of Rs 500 each.

The amount for the top three winners was Rs 2000, Rs 1500 and Rs 1000 .

The event was graced by Art and Culture Department Director Dr K sobita Devi and R.MAC chairman RK Gopalsana Singh as the chief guest and functional president respectively.
