Imphal, June 13 2011: 28 Assam Rifles, Lilong Post in association with local police, Zila Parishad Member Faisal Maorebi, Bazar Board secretary Liyaqat Ali and local NGO Anjuman e Islah representatives led by Moulana Abdul Aziz alias Amir seized 4885 strips of SP capsules, 418 strips of N10, 69 bottles of Lupi cough, 36 strips of Actified, 29 boxes of Cold Go, 2gm of heroin from different parts of Lilong area.

The seized items were set on fire in the presence of 28 AR personnel, local police, local administration and volunteers of NGOs today.

AMADA Secretary Phoni Meitei and Lilong Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Md Shah Alam were also present.

The local populace extended full support in the drive against drugs.

More than 300 people witnessed in the drugs disposal programme, said an AR press release.
