Sit-in, public meeting held against death of Sushila

Bishnupur, April 13 2019: A sit-in protest, organized by Potshangbam Youth Improvement Union, was staged today at Kha Potshangbam Community Hall in connection with the death of a woman identified as Khwairakpam (o) Sushila Devi (45) w/o Kh Nilamani alias Mani Singh of Bishnupur Ward No 5, who was found death on the roadside of Khoijuman old road near a paddy field under Bishnupur Police Station on April 11.Later, the protesting members conducted a public meeting at the same venue and took many resolutions to find out the culprits involved.

The meeting was attended by Nachou ZP member Thiyam Dilip Meitei; president Potshangbam Youth Improvement Union, M Shyam Singh; secy S Sanatomba; president MPAL N Thamballeima; secy Ima Nganbi and key members of various club.

Rejecting the claimed of the police that the woman has committed suicide, all the members present in the meeting unanimously resolved to pressurize the police to register an FIR within 3 days to nab the perpetrators at the earliest as the manner and the circumstances in which the woman was found death is highly suspicious and unnatural while cautioning that intense agitation will be launched with the support of meira paibis, club members and public of the area if their demands are not met within the said period.
