Kakching Police nab fraudster

Kakching, February 13 2020: Kakching Police has arrested the accused involved in robbing and sexually assaulting a young girl on Febraury 8, from Ghari Awang Leikai, yesterday.

A press release issued by Superintendent of Police Kakching said that accused has been identified as one Irom Chingkheinganba Singh alias Krityvas (24), s/o Irom Brojen Singh of Tangjeng Khunou Maning Leikai, Kakching district.

On February 9, Kakching Police Station received a report regarding an incident of February 8, where an unidentified man lured out an innocent girl, by befriending her on Facebook, said police adding that the man cheated the victim and abandoned her at BT Road, Imphal after robbing a mobile phone and Rs 1,15,000 from her.

Before robbing the victim, the accused sexually assaulted her at the upstair room of one tea hotel at Kakching Ningthou Leikai near Azad Cinema Hall, added the police.

Saying that a case in connection with the incident was registered and the owners of the said hotel were arrested, it continued that the police made a hectic effort to identify and arrest the accused.

Through technological aid, the accused was arrested from Ghari Awang Leikai and from his disclosure, police recovered Rs 30,000, mobile phone and some clothes of the victim, it added.
