Imphal, December 12 2016:
Manipur Pollution Control Board (MPCB) Chairman Dr Ng Bijoy has categorically stated that all progressive people support creation of more districts in Manipur even though some conservative people have opposed it.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of a market shed at Moirangkampu Sajeb.
Dr Bijoy stated that the State Government created seven new districts for the welfare of the people.
It was not against nor in favour of any community.
With the creation of the seven new districts, State administration would now reach far flung area, particularly in the hills.
Pointing out that Chief Minister O Ibobi personally met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and urged him to intervene and resolve the issue of protracted economic blockade, Dr Bijoy asked what the State BJP leaders have been doing all these days.
No Nagas of Nagaland used the term 'Naga' at the end of their names to identify themselves, but some communities of Manipur have been using the same suffix quite enthusiastically.
Quoting Nobel laureate and celebrated economist Amartya Sen, Dr Bijoy said that demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes was a blunder.
