NMPO accords warm welcome to first SDO of Lairouching Block

Senapati, November 12 2021: Northern Maram People's Organization (NMPO) on Friday organized a reception programme in honour of T Shyamkumar Singh, MCS, the first SDO of Lairouching Block, Government of Manipur at Lairouching village.

The programme was hosted by Lairouching Village Authority and moderated by Pungdi P Celestine, general secretary of Maram Union, said a release issued by NMPO.

Speaking on the occasion, Pungdi P Celestine stated that the appointment of the first SDO was a gift of Chief Minister, N Biren Singh to ensure that SDO Block is functional and operational.

In his welcome note, president NMPO, RK Kamba remembered all the pioneers and leaders who had initially pursued for a SDO Office at Maram including the former Minister (Lt) Ng Luikang; former Deputy Speaker, K Raina and former Minister Francis Ngajokpa, (Lt) RK Peter and (Lt) Ng Karaiba.

SDO Shyamkumar Kumar, MCS expressed his happiness on being appointed as the first SDO of Lairouching Block and stated that he would try his best to fulfil the dream of the CM by making the block operational.

Maram Students' Union (MKS) president also assured the SDO full cooperation from the local populace.

It may be mentioned that Lairouching Village Authority has offered a community house for temporary operation of the SDO Office.

Village Headman, Hingba proposed the vote of thanks while local Pastor Mathew led the thanksgiving prayer and Maram Women Union president, Kanga Regina pronounced the invocation.

Northern Maram Students & Youths Organization, Northern Maram Women Organization, various elders and leaders also attended the programme.

Later, T Shyamkumar Singh along with village and public leaders visited the land donated for the SDO office and staff quarters site, located along NH-2 .
