10 villages to be nominated for Nirmal Gram Puruskar

Imphal, November 12 2015: Manipur Government is planning to nominate ten villages for the Nirmal Gram Puruskar 2015-16 to be awarded to villages for successful implementation of scheme under Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC).

A source from the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) said that total sanitation campaign had been launched in the State under PHED.

The State Government has given special attention to the sanitation campaign by opening Communication and Capacity Development Units.

Earlier, villages which had successfully undertaken total sanitation campaigns have been honoured with the Nirmal Gram Puruskar award.

Maklang Gram Panchayat of Imphal West District was honoured with the same award in 2008 while Utlou Gram Panchayat of Bishnupur District bagged the same award in 2009 .
