Imphal, October 12 2015: Troops of 45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) established a vehicle check post in Pangei area and apprehended two NRFM cadres on October 11 .

The apprehendees were identified as Ningthoujam Jibam Meitei alias Punshiba, (40) S/o N Garani Meitei of Laphupat Tera Ningolkhong Mapal, Mayang Imphal, under Waikhong PS and Houbijam Ibomcha alias Angou (31) S/o H Heramani Singh of Lamsang Khunou village, according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S) .

One identity card of Criminal Investigation Department (Special Branch), Government of Manipur, Identity Card No 009 forged by KCP (NK), eight out pass cards of KCP (MC), ten extortion notes of NRFM and a two wheeler (Activa) bearing Registration Number MN 01U 3136 were recovered from their possession, the AR statement said.

He revealed that they distributed the demand letter signed by NRFM Finance Secretary and collect money from various businessmen, contractor and Government Department in Imphal area.

The apprehendees along with the recovered items have been handed over to Heingang Police Station.
