CCpur, September 12 2019: The two UG cadres who were killed in a clash with another rival UG group at a village in Pherzawl district yesterday have been confirmed to belong to UTLA while the other group involved in the clash is confirmed to be the Liberation Tigers of Tribals (LTT), according to sources.

The clash occurred deep inside the jungle near Songphu village under Thanlon sub-division in Pherzawl District.

Bodies of the two deceased cadres identified as Seilenmon Singson (32) alias Marcus of Khuongjang village and Lunminthang Singson alias Mineo of Khuongjang village were brought to the district hospital mortuary today for conducting autopsy by Kuki Khanglai Lompi (KKL) volunteers.

Sources from the KKL said, at least 5 vehicles including an ambulance from Churachandpur rushed to the spot following the incident to retrieve the body.

However, their local counterparts led by KKL Jiri zone retrieved the body from the jungle and brought them on foot till Jiribam.

The team from Churachandpur received the bodies at Rengpang village late last night and brought it to the hospital here at around 12 noon.

With the family claiming the bodies later in the day after post mortem, their last rites have been conducted by SYO and laid to rest at Monglenphai village.

Several local sources have also claimed that at least one more cadre was injured in the shootout, but the report could not be independently verified.
