AMGSU Kanglatongbi conducts social service camp

All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) Kanglatongbi Unit conducted a social service camp in and around the Public Health Centre Kanglatongbi, yesterday.
The volunteers was shocked when a used syringe was found in an open area near PHC Kanglatongbi which is adjacent to the Mandir Ward Playground where many children are using it as a recreational place.
LB Adhikari, president AMGSU who also attended the camp urged the shopkeepers and general public of Kanglatongbi not to dump garbage on river bridge along the NH-2 at Kanglatongbi and warned that defaulters will be punished if the volunteers of AMGSU caught them red handed.
He also said that AMGSU is going to conduct the 2nd State level written quiz competition on September 8 in two categories, viz Class VI to VIII (category A) and Class IX and X (category B) in connection with its 52nd foundation day.
Stating that interested students can take part in the competition on payment of Rs 50 as registration fee on or before August 20, he added the winners will be awarded a cash prizes of Rs 5000, 3000, 2000 respectively.
He then continued that the union has also resolved to collect Rs 10 as an annual general fee from Nepali speaking Gorkha students reading from Class IV and university level and Rs 100 from Gorkha teachers after obtaining card.
The union has also circulated separate survey form to obtain the data of Gorkha students studying in the schools and colleges in the State, appealing the schools and colleges authority to furnish correct data to the union.
It also appealed all the CSOs and other concerned organizations not to call bandh and general strike on September 8.Meanwhile, AMGSU has urged the truck owners and drivers who park their vehicles near Kanglatongbi bridge along NH -2 to remove immediately during school time.
