Assam Rifles gears up for International Day of Yoga

In a remarkable display of community engagement and promotion ofholistic wellness, the Assam Rifles organized a series of events to celebrate the 10th International Day ofYoga across Manipur.
The celebration kicked off at Gothal High School, Churachandpur district yesterday under the theme '10th International Day of Yoga' emphasizing yoga as a comprehensive instrument for the improvement of physical and mental health, effective brain development, enhanced memory, better concentration, reduced stress, and increased motivation and productivity among people of all ages, said a statement by the Assam Rifles.
The "Yoga Shivir for School Children" event covered a range of activities including theme-based yoga sessions, mindful games, and different yoga demonstrations.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation from 65 students and five teachers, showing solidarity with the country's ethos, principles, and contributing to making a healthy India.
All participants gained an understanding of how yoga helps exercise and calm the mind, viewing it as a mantra for a healthy, happy, and peaceful life.
Continuing the celebration, the Assam Rifles organized a mass yoga demonstration at Mantripukhri Garrison, with additional sessions at various Company Operating Bases.
This event aimed at fostering physical fitness, mental wellbeing, and spiritual harmony among the residents.
The International Yoga Day event commenced early in the morning with a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
Professional yoga instructors led the sessions, ensuring that participants received proper guidance on different asanas (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation techniques.
Special attention was given to beginners, with simplified versions of the asanas demonstrated to accommodate all levels of fitness and experience, added the statement.
