Imphal, May 12 2020: The special train which left Chennai on May 10 with 1140 stranded Manipuri people on board would reach Jiribam tomorrow afternoon.

Meanwhile, Health Department has arranged 12 counters for screening all the people who would arrive at Jiribam.

Necessary arrangements have also been made to send the returnees to community/institutional quarantine centres of their respective districts.

A press release issued by the Principal Secretary (Health) said that all people who return from outside the State would be put under community quarantine or institutional quarantine, and home quarantine would not be allowed.

On the other hand, the State Government has initiated due process to convert Hotel Imphal by Classic, Phouoibi Hotel, Hotel Tampha (Old), Hotel Tampha (New) and Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel into quarantine centres.

Altogether 193 samples were tested for COVID-19 at JNIMS and RIMS today and all of them turned out negative.
