Imphal, February 12 2025: Kakching district commando today afternoon arrested one active cadre ofKCP (City Meitei) who is allegedly involved in extortion from the general public of Kakching and Thoubal district.

According to the source acting on specific information about the presence of some cadres of an underground outfit in the Erumpal area, a team of Kakching district commandos rushed to the spot and carried out a search operation of suspected persons.

During that one person who was seen moving in suspicious manner was detained for verification on spot verification the detained person is identified as Moirangthem Gobin @Khaba Meitei (38) S/O M Ibotombi Meitei of Langathel Inkholnung Leikai, Thoubal district.

On spot verification Gobin disclosed and admitted that he was involved in extortion from the general public of Kakching and Thoubal District area for the party fund and works under the command of Chairman City Meitei (KCP) .

Gobin was arrested on spot by observing necessary formalities and also seized two mobile phones and on four wheeler car with Manipur registration number on spot The arrested person along with the seized items were handed over to the Kakching Police Station for investigation and necessary legal action said sources.
