Block level Congess meet

Tamei Block Congress Committee conducted a block level meeting to discuss satisfaction/dissatisfaction of the people of the Constituency regarding different flagship programmes of the UPA Government at the official quarter of Tamei AC MLA Z Kikhonbou today.
Speaking at the occasion, Kikhonbou, who is also the Vice-Chairman of Hill Areas Committee (HAC), said that the meeting was conducted with an aim to discuss people's satisfaction or dissatisfaction regarding road connectivity, health, education and PDS facilities of Tamei AC.
It is the objective of the Government to make available of the facilities and benefits provided under UPA Government's flagship programmes to the people.
He said that constructions of Makru and Barak bridges have almost completed.
Setting up of BDO office, police stations, banks and quarters for Government employees for Tamei and Tousem Blocks under Chief Minister's Inclusive Tribal Hill Infrastructure Initiative are on the process, he added.
Five junior high schools have been upgraded to high schools and six primary schools to upper primary schools, and PHSCs have been opened at five localities where health facilities were not there, he added.
Moreover, under Chief Minister Okram Ibobi's supervision, necessary works to provide power supply to 20 villages of Tousem Sub-division have been completed.
The Government is ready to take up similar development works for 15 villages of Tamei Sub-division as well, he added.
By providing adequate quantity of rice, the Government has also solved the problem of rice scarcity faced at Tousem area due to poor productivity.
