Villagers get benefits of MCA project in Tamenglong

Imphal, June 11 2011:
Troops of 11 Assam Rifles under Red Shield Division, in yet another endeavor to bring peace, prosperity and development to remote areas of Tamenglong and keeping aspiration and need of the locals, distributed 13 sintex tanks to New Cananan, New Lambulanne, Bamgaijang, Nungnang, Namlalong, Model Baptist Church and Immanuel Public School.
Eight Sintex tanks of 1000 ltrs capacity each were given to Tharon village as a part of water scheme for the village under Army MCA project.
Solar lights for Happy Villa Authority Offices, village L Pabram and Namlalong were also distributed on the occasion.
The troop has been addressing the problems faced by the people of Tamenglong by carrying out meaningful and sincere MCA projects in the area.
Village Authority Council conveys sincere gratitude to 11 Assam Rifles for truly being "Friends of Hill People", a statement of the 11 AR adjutants said.
Further, the troops of 11 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division organised a tour to Moreh for 25 Chairmen and village Authority Members from different villages of Tamenglong District.
Coming from the remote and far flung villages, the villagers had expressed their desire during their interaction with 11 Assam Rifles on May 6 to visit Moreh, a major trade centre in the state.
The Battalion, has made complete arrangements and organised their trip to Moreh by providing free transport, free meals and lodging en-route.
While addressing the village Chairmen, Commandant said, that he is sanguine that this tour to Moreh for various Village Chairmen of Tamenglong District will not only broaden their horizon but also will provide them insight and opportunity to boost up trade in Tamenglong District.
He further added that Security Forces are committed towards welfare of people in the area and will continue their endeavour against all odds to doing so.
The team of Chairmen and Authority Member will interact with Major General DS Hooda, GOC 57 Mountain Division on June 11 at Leimakhong from where they will be flagged off and would proceed to Moreh on June 12 .
