Birth anniversary of Jyotiba Phule observed

The people of the State mainly the Scheduled Caste and minorities should acknowledge the significant contributions of the eminent social reformer Jyotiba Phule who strove earnestly to educate the oppressed sections and should make concerted efforts to fulfill his vision for an egalitarian society.
The above statement was made by Sekmai AC MLA H Dingo Singh at the birth anniversary celebration of Jyotiba Phule held today at Sardar Patel High School, Khurkhul organised by the BJP SC Morcha as a part of the BJP's 42nd foundation day observation.
During the programme, the attendees paid homage and floral tributes to the photo of Jyotiba Phule and stationery items were distributed to the students.

Addressing the gathering, H Dingo highlighted the change brought in the education sector by the School Phagathansi Mission initiated during the first term of BJP Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
Such an initiative can be taken as a tribute to Jyotiba Phule who strove for the upliftment for the needy and downtrodden, he added.
He further informed that he will start conducting inspection visits at schools across Sekmai AC.
Today's programme was also attended by State President BJP SC Morcha, Ng Raghumani Singh, BJP Imphal West president, P Phoni, BJP Imphal West In-charge, L Tejkumar, BJP Sekmai Mandal president, N Naobi Singh, teachers, staff and students of Sardar Patel High School.
The birth anniversary of Jyotiba Phule was also celebrated at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Andro organised by BJP Imphal East District.
An extempore speech competition was held for the students and winners and participants were presented with stationery items.
The programme was attended by BJP Imphal East president Pangambam Bishambhar, general secretary Toijam Phoni, BJP Imphal East district Mahila president, M Nachom Devi and BJP Andro Mandal president, Suresh.
