Lamka, August 10 2020: Churachandpur District Hospital administration and the family of 5-day-old baby who died hours after he was reportedly denied admission has signed a 4-point MoU in the presence of CSOs from the deceased's locality.

The four-point agreement reached in the presence of representatives of Village Authory, Dorcas Veng and YPA Dorcas Veng termed the case as preventable death and indicated that the hospital administration has accepted that there were administrative lapses and accordingly tendered their apology.

It also said fair and impartial investigation as per the order issued by the DC Churachandpur and Principal Secretary (Health) on August 6 shall be done and recommendation for ex-gratia shall be made accordingly.

Ensuring a more stringent and comprehensive monitoring system to curb negligence within one month of inking the MoU and necessary steps to be taken by the hospital authority for replacing the old and incompetent staff with new and competent staff are the other points the MoU.

Both the sides agreed to review the MoU within one month.
