Assam Rifles launches Know your state programme

Imphal, August 10, 2012: The 27 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of "Red Shield Division" initiated an education tour for children of Churachandpur District under the theme "Know Your State".

As part of this initiative, 39 Assam Rifles conducted an educational tour for 46 students along with teachers of Hill Model School of Thinghat today.

During the tour the children were given a guided tour to various places of the state including the Khuga Dam, Loktak Lake, INA Memorial, Zoological Garden, Kangla Fort, War Cemeteries, Shree Govindjee Temple in Imphal.

The tour provides an excellent opportunity to the children to travel outside their District.

The excitement was evident on their eager faces and enjoyed each moment of the tour.

The tour was overall an enriching experience for the children and will go a long way in fostering the bond between the Security Forces and the local populace, according to a press release of PIB (DW) today.
