Chief Minister N Biren Singh, today, inspected the solid waste treatment plant located at Lamdeng Khunou, Imphal West district, and a site located nearby where a new biomedical treatment plant would be set up soon.

As such, there is urgent need for a new plant which also has the treatment facility of biomedical wastes, Biren said.
The Chief Minister also urged the public to keep their garbage in proper places so that it can be collected by NGOs concerned and Imphal Municipal Corporation instead of dumping the wastes into the rivers and at other inappropriate places.
