Class XII results: 2 rank holders, 3 subject toppers are from Kangpokpi

Students from Kangpokpi district have excelled this year also refreshing the memories of 2017 when the district first started producing rank holders in Class X and XII examinations.
This year, two rank holders and three subject toppers in Class XII examination have brought fame to the district again.
In 2017, after Kangpokpi district, erstwhile Sadar Hills was declared full-fledged district, a student from Saikul Thangkanphai achieved 12th rank in BOSEM examination 2017 and the next year, a girl from Kangpokpi DHQs topped Meghalaya Board of Secondary School in Commerce Stream.
Ngamsanglen Haokip, s/o Henkholun Haokip and Nengkhotin Haokip from C Munnom village in Saitu Gamphazol area under Saitu-Gamphazol sub-division secured 2nd rank in Commerce stream in HSE 2019 conducted by COHSEM by securing 397 marks out of 500 marks with letter marks in English, Alt English, Business Studies and Economics.
Third of the four sons, Ngamsanglen Haokip was born on March 13, 2001.He studied Class XII at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Maram and is fond of guitar.
He wants to become a successful Chartered Accountant in future.
"Hard work is undeniably a must for success but in this advanced competitive era we should not only work hard but study smarter and always try to catch the main points of what you study to excel and succeed better than others," said Ngamsanglen Haokip who gave credit to his parents especially her mother who 'tirelessly pray for his health and wisdom every morning and evening'.
He continued that "earlier I had little self confidence and has low self esteem, but my mother became my inspiration and she encouraged me to have faith and believe in myself".
"My son you can also do it as others can do," these "words of mother inspired me", he said.
He had never anticipated the result, said Ngamsanglen who came to know about the result through social media when shopping at Paona Bazar with his mother.
Elizabeth Nengneilhing Lupheng, d/o Thangkam Lupheng and Nemkholam Lupheng from Nungka village under Saikul sub-division secured 452 out of 500 and got letter marks in Eng, Alt Eng, Phy, Bio, and Phs.
A student of Herbert School, Changangei, she ranked 18th in Science stream.
The Herbert student said she will pursue medical line and become a doctor.
The three subject toppers from the district are Lhingpineng Stacy Chongloi, d/o Thongkholen Chongloi and Lamneiting Chongloi; Sarita Shankar, d/o of Sobit Shankar and Sabita and Chongneiphal Doungel, d/o Thangminlun Doungel and Lhingjahat Doungel.
Lhingpineng Stacy Chongloi (MECI Explorer Academy) from Jangnoi village in Saikul Lhungtin SDC Circle secured 98 out of 100 in Alternative English.
Chongneiphal Doungel (Elite Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi) secured 92 marks out of 100 in MIL (Thadou-Kuki).
Sarita Shankar, (Damdei Christian College) secured 83 marks out of 100 in MIL (Nepali).
She is from Parsain Nepali village under Champhai sub-division.
