The Kangkum Village Authority is taking active part in finding the culprit/s involved in the death of B Pitaranjan alias Korabin Sharma of Nongmeibung which is being handled by the Police Department.
They also deeply conveyed their grief and prayed that the almighty God comfort all the bereaved family members.
Reacting to the news item which appeared in the English edition of The Sangai Express, dated May 9, 2016 under the caption, "JAC stages sit-in-protest," wherein JAC leader Jeena Potshangbam said that a man who identified himself as the chief of Kangkum village, 'Peter', made a phone call to one of the youths, who had been to the village to bring back Pitaranjan's body some time back, and asked him not to stage any agitation and demand arrest of the killers, as completely wrong, the village chief of Kangkum clarified that he had not said such things to any of the youths.
The chief again clarified that the village authority is trying very hard in finding out the culprit and added that blaming each other will lead to more misunderstanding.
