Committee demands release of fund

The Senapati-Phaibung Road Development Committee has demanded immediate release of ten per cent State share for construction of the aforementioned road stretch to the construction agency, namely, 25 BRTF.
An emergency meeting was convened at TNK Village Council Hall today along with the headmen, chairmen and secretaries of 18 villages to discuss the order issued by the Government of Manipur concerning the handing over of the the Senapati-Phaibung Road to the State PWD from 25 BRTF.
During the meeting, the Committee unanimously reaffirmed to apprise the Manipur Government to release 10% of the State share amounting to Rs 11.43 crore to the 25 BRTF, for completion of the construction work at the earliest date.
It further resolved that handing over of the road stretch to the PWD can be done only after formal completion of the pending works with the DoNER Ministry as undertaken through a special Prime Minister's package for the most backward areas.
