Imphal, August 08 2015 :
South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO) observed its 5th foundation day today at Lamyanba Shanglen, Konung Mamang, Imphal.
Titular king Leisemba Sanajaoba inaugurated the programme by offering floral tributes to the seven crowns of Maichous and lighting the inaugural lamp.
The gatherings observed a two-minute silence in honour and respect of late Sapam Robinhood during the inaugural session.
Validating the people's demand for ILP, Sanajaoba said public demands are seldom ill-timed or unreasonable.
If the State Government also supports the people's demand then there is but little reason why ILP cannot be implemented in the State.
He said the Government should take up necessary steps to ensure that an uprising similar to that of June 18, 2001 does not happen again.
The titular king of the State has said that the State Government should terminate the guilty police personnel instead of placing them under suspension.
He also expressed his deepest sympathies for the family members of Sapam Robinhood at their loss.
Regarding the Naga peace agreement signed between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM, Sanajaoba said the step taken by the the Government of India is laudable and highly welcomed given that the agreement does not affect the territorial integrity of the State.
IGP S Manglemjao, KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, Khangabok chairman Khundrakpam Mejor Mangang, cultural activist and research scholar Longjam Sanathoi Piba and Seaco president Koijam Brojen also attended the programme.
