Imphal, June 07 2015 : Leimarol Leiremba Nishaband observed its silver jubilee celebration at Kwakeithel Haorakchambi Leikai today.

A meira paibee shanglen was also inaugurated at the occasion.

Chief guest of the event, Sagolband A/C MLA RK Imo Singh assured the completion of all developmental works within two years.

The shanglen has been constructed from the local area development fund of the MLA with a total budget of Rs 1.15 lakh.

The MLA expressed his gratitude to the locals of Kwakeithel Haorakchambi Leikai for donating the land for construction during his speech.

The MLA also conveyed his condolence to the families of the army personnel who were killed in the June 4 ambush.

Guest of honour of the event Khongbantabam (o) Kshetrimayum Randhoni Devi, president, Leimarol Leiremba Nishaband Meira Paibee Lup said the function was organised to commemorate the outbreak of the series of protests against the establishment of a police outpost at Kwakeithel.

RK Imo distributed gifts to elderly meira paibi members during the event.
