Imphal, February 07 2022: The Manipur Lokayukta has named the SP of Kakching police as the Investigation Officer and directed him to investigate a case of 2020 against 12 officials of MSPCL and an Electronic company based at Gurgaon based on a complaint filed by an individual to the Lokayukta and asked the IO to finalise the probe within 6 months, from the date of registration of the case at the Crime Branch.

The case pertains to the installation of a 2x1MVA, 33 Kv sub-station along with the associated 33 Kv line and related works at Chakpikarong in Chandel under a work order dated September 25, 2009 .

The Lokayukta has also ordered the transfer of some key officials of MSPCL from their present posting so that no undue influence is exerted in the investigation of the case.
