Concerned with the many incidents and issues that have been hampering the education system in the State, the co-ordinating committee was formed to make education a disturbance free zone, he said.
There should be a sound education system for a society to advance, he said and asserted that the State needs to establish strong knowledge based industries and improve human resources to become a 'knowledge capital' of the country.
Development will come only when education is made a disturbance free zone, he added.
Advocating that there should be a sound State education policy, he criticised the frequent transfer and utilisation of Government teachers.
Backlogs, shortage of teachers, staff and inferior infrastructure are hampering education system, he said advising the Government and Department concerned to look into the existing policies and implementation of school development schemes/projects.
Salaries of the teachers and staff should be given on time.
This will also encourage teachers and staff to do better job in educating the future generations, he added.
DESAM president and convenor of the co-ordinating committee Salam Aakash said that the committee has been appealing the Government and all concerned to make education a disturbance free zone.
Students and educational institutes should be kept out of the purview of bandh, blockade and general strike.
Education must be encouraged, educational institutes should not be boycotted at all, he said appealing all concerned to avoid pressuring/threatening education officers, teachers and students.
Government should keep politics aside when dealing with education, Aakash said advising it to form good policy and cut down number of holidays to ensure 220 working days in schools.
It may be mentioned that the committee has been organising poster campaigns and awareness programmes in schools and public places across the State to ensure disturbance free education.
