Imphal, July 05 2013 : The Kom Ren Students' Union (KRSU) General headquarters has clarified that the so called Kom Students' Union Manipur is not a recognised body of the Kom community.

A statement issued by the general secretary of KRSU, M Angam Kom said the so called KSUM has already been disowned by the Sagang Area United Club Association (SAUCA) and Sagang Area Kom Cultural and Custom Administrative Committee.

"The few individuals who have been protected by other communities and have no authority even in a single Kom village cannot call themselves as representing the Kom community," the statement said.

Appealing to the so called leaders of KSUM to restrain themselves from making further press release as it tarnished the image of the Kom Rem community, the KRSUM asked them to contact directly if there is anything to discuss or sort out any misunderstanding.

It added that Emboi Serto was recommended by KRSU (Ghqs) to represent the Kom Rem community to ATSUM.

The Kom Rem students' body also congratulated Emboi Serto for his election to the post of ATSUM president.
