University Day observed, retired staff honoured

Former Vice Chancellor, Manipur University, Prof H Tombi today called for quality education and for appointment of staff to vacant posts in faculties and developing infrastructure.
Speaking as chief guest of the University Day function held at the centenary hall of the university, Prof Tombi said that the university used to face financial shortages before it was upgraded into a Central University.
He urged to develop infrastructure and appoint required faculty members to make the university the right place for pursuing higher studies which would be an envy to the people of the country.
Vice Chancellor Prof HNK Sharma said that even though the University has completed 30 years since its inception, there are many more tasks left to be undertaken to develop the university a proper place for higher studies.
He reminded that besides developing infrastructure, each and every staff and faculties of the university should strive to make the university a good academic institution.
