Imphal, October 04 2015:
The All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association has urged the State Government to immediately look into appointment of Md Nijamuddin of Lilong as the Principal of Khangsilung Higher Secondary School, Khoupum, Tamenglong.
Speaking at a press conference held at Johnstone Higher Secondary School, association general secretary M Joykumar said that Md Nijamuddin was appointed as a Mathematics lecturer on May 7, 1988 without any formal notification.
As such, the association has been demanding the Government to find out whether his appointment was genuine or fake, he said.
However, instead of fulfilling the demand of the association, the authority concerned had recently appointed him as the Principal of Khangsilung Higher Secondary School.
Stating that there are many reasons why something smells fishy in the appointment of Nijamuddin, M Joykumar said that the Government appointed 261 lecturers including nine Mathematics lecturers on October 26, 1988 .
The Government issued advertisement of these recruitment in 1987 and written test was held in March 1988 and interview in September the same year.
Nijamuddin's appointment order was issued six months earlier to the announcement of results of these 261 lecturers (ie on May 7, 1988), he said.
As such, the association has been demanding the Government to find out whether Nijamuddin's appointment was fake or genuine.
However, without considering this genuine demand, the authority concerned has appointed Nijamuddin as the Principal of Khangsilung Higher Secondary School recently, he said.
The general secretary further said that the Government must not undermine the fact that the association has opposing fake appointments in the interest of the general public and students.
