Charcoal sale soars

Comparing to last year's sale, charcoal demand during winter months has increased this year.
During a random survey conducted by The Sangai Express, it has been revealed that most of the charcoal vendors sell around 30 bags of charcoal daily this year comparing to last year's sale of around 20 bags.
Arambam Jina, who is running a charcoal shop at New Checkon, told The Sangai Express that demand for charcoal increases everytime Government hikes LPG price.
Now charcoal is being sold at Rs 470 per bag in Imphal.
Saying that she also supplies charcoal to different shops, Jina said that she bought charcoal in bulk from suppliers in Churachandpur district.
Charcoal vendors also buy charcoal in bulk from suppliers of Sajik Tampak in Chandel district, Ukhrul and Khamenlok.
