MASLSA organizes State's first E/online Lok Adalat

The Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA), under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, organised the State's first E/online Lok Adalat today at the office of MASLSA, ADR building, Lamphelpat.
Justice Kh Nobin Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur (HCM) and executive chairman MASLSA, inaugurated the said E/online Lok Adalat through a virtual ceremony while MASLSA member secy Golmei Gaiphulshillu delivered the welcome address.
In his inaugural speech, Justice Kh Nobin Singh said that the online lok adalat is organized with the aim to generate awareness to the public regarding this new approach to settle disputes through online mechanism and other electronic means.
The concept of online lok adalat has been necessitated due to the various restrictions imposed due to COVID-19 .
The lok adalat bench comprised of Ojesh Mutum, Addl Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, Crime Against Women, Manipur as the chairman and Ch Momon Singh, advocate as member.
The advocates for both parties were present during the online lok adalat.
Naorem Ibomcha Singh, Divisional Manager, National Insurance Company Ltd, was also present.
In today's session, 12 cases concerning motor accident claims cases pending before the MACT, Manipur were taken up, out of which 7 were settled harmoniously.
MASLSA extended thanks to the presiding officer and staff of MACT, Judicial Officers, ld advocates, all parties, officials of National Insurance Company Ltd, news and print media for the successful conduct of the programme.
