Manipur Police distributes DTH to Clubs and NGOs

Works to improve the relationship between the police and the general public taken up by the Union Ministry of Home in the insurgency inflicted areas of Jammu and Kashmir and the North East states is in process and progressing, said DGP Y Joykumar.
Speaking at the distribution function of DTH sets to clubs and NGOs held at the conference hall of Imphal West SP, DGP Y Joykumar further said that under the civic action programme of the Ministry of Home Affairs different roads and bridges have been built and youths have been provided education in insurgency prone areas.
As a first step, after a thorough deliberation with DIG (Range I) and SSP, L Kailun a proposal for the distribution of DTH sets to the public was put up to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Ministry of Home Affairs approved the proposal and sanctioned the DTH sets through the Doordarshan.
These DTH sets were distributed today to 13 NGOs and clubs by DGP, Y Joykumar and SSP Imphal West, L Kailun.
The Clubs and NGOs of Imphal West district which received the DTH sets were Naharol Welfare Club, Kangabam Leikai, Socio Economic Athletic and Cultural Organisation, Yaiskul Janmasthan, Youth Development Organisation, Thangmeiband Thingel Maru, Destitute Children Home, Lei Ingkhol, Welfare Organisation, Langol Ningthou, Southern Sporting Union, Singjamei, Sun Club.
Mongsangei, Model Club, Chingamakha, Mikhya Club, Konchak, Maibam Konjil Social Organisation, Maibam Konjil, Youth Welfare Club, Patsoi Part-1, Social Development Association, Moidangpok Aheibam Leikai and Social Youth Welfare Organisation, Irom Meijrao Makha Leikai.
The distribution of DTH sets to the NGOs and Clubs of Imphal East was done on August 30 by SP, Clay Khongsai.
Big screen TVs were also distributed by the Manipur Police Department during the 2010 Football World Club through the district SPs.
