Hypochlorite sprayed in various areas, help extended

As a preventive measure against coronavirus, various areas in Thoubal district were sanitized by spraying sodium hypochlorite by local organizations as well as Councillors in their respective wards, to disinfect the areas.
As a continuation of the spraying exercise, Thoubal Municipal Council Ward No 4 Councillor, Akoijam (o) Chandrajini along with members of the Ward Development Committee, conducted a disinfection exercise covering areas of the ward.
The Co-operative Society Ltd, Yairipok Kekru along with president of the society Longjam Romen, disinfected the areas in Ward No 8 by spraying sodium hypochlorite which was provided by Longjam Romen.
The society will also be conducting a cleanliness drive on July 3 to further their cause.
In Ward No 1 of Thoubal Municipal Council, Councillor Okram Inaotombi, in association with OYC, SSAWA and Thoubal Kendra COVID-19 Aid Team, under the aegis of local MLA O Ibobi, sprayed sodium hypochlorite in Thoubal Okram area, which is a declared containment zone.
The team also distributed essential food items to around 20 households undergoing home quarantine.
To curb the spread of the virus, different parts in Tekcham of Wangjing Tentha Assembly Constituency (AC) as well as neighbouring villages were sprayed with sodium hypochlorite, with the help of volunteers and villagers of the neighbouring villages.
The Ninghsing Lup has announced total lockdown of Tekcham area.
Speaking to mediapersons, advisor of the Lup, Tekcham Roshan stated that as there are signs of possible community and local transmission, members of the Lup has decided to declare the area in a state of total lockdown to restrict the entry of strangers and outsiders.
Ningshing Lup Tekcham had previously made many appeals to the Government to restrict entry of outsiders into the State, he continued and further requested for the Primary Sub-Centre in the village to provide 24 hrs service, to deal with any emergency, he added.
Thanking everyone who helped with the disinfection exercise, he appealed everyone to strictly follow all COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines.
