Imphal, May 02 2016: More than 15 artistes performed at a charity concert at Chiengkonpang bazar, Churachandpur on Saturday to raise funds to help victims of the recent devastating hailstorms that hit Saichang area of Henglep Subdivision, Churachandpur district.

The concert with the theme 'Let us rebuild the hills' was organised by Huihchim Media, a bi-lingual monthly magazine published from Ccpur.

Prominent artistes like LL Muona, H Kailalmuon, PCL Thuoma, Lawmnakim Hrangate (Zomi Idol '15), Ngaihching, Julie Mawi, Jerry K Bieklien, Bethsy Gangte, Sangkhum, Sangthiem, Ginkhoson, Nunthar, Thangboi, Janglal Khongsai, James Arjun and others performed at the event.

Raymond Gangte, editor of the magazine handed over the amount received in the concert (Rs 42,789) to the Relief Committee of Saichang area today.

It may be mentioned that properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed by the hailstorms that left a trail of destruction in Saichang area of Henglep subdivision, Churachandpur district last week.

Many villagers were rendered homeless.

Various philanthropic organisations including Bunglon VA, Bunglon ESC, and others extended relief materials to the affected victims today.
