Imphal, May 02 2014 : The 41 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR distributed various items including water storage tank, 10 beds, stationery, sports equipment and food items to Eden Orphan Home at Lanai, Ukhrul.

Commander 10 Sector AR Brig Peeyush Pandey handed over the gift items in a ceremony to the orphanage on May 1 .

In addition to this, a medical camp was also organised by the Medical Officer and paramedical staff of 41 Assam Rifles for children of the orphanage and local populace of the surrounding area.

A total of over 112 people received free medical consultation and medicines through the camp, informed a PRO IGAR (S) release.

Mrs Tanmila, founder of Eden Orphan Home and Headman of Lanai village, Ukhrul expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their yeomen service to the orphanage and local populace.

Established in 1990 Eden Orphanage is home to 50 orphans hailing from remote villages of Ukhrul district, Manipur.
