Dismissing police claim that two persons arrested recently belong to the KNF (N) as totally baseless and unacceptable, a KNF (N) statement issued by its Information and Publicity secretary Gogou Vaiphei clarified that arrested duo have nothing to do with the organisation.
Quoting newspaper reports about Seikhothang Kipgen s/o Lunkhulet Kipgen of Tuibong and Seikholen Vaiphei of Khengjang village in Churachandpur arrested by the police in connection with a December 22 kidnapping case, the armed outfit termed the police claim of branding both as active KNF-N cadres as misleading and unacceptable.
The accused Seikhothang Kipgen is found to be retired soldier of the Indian Army who currently manages family livelihood by hiring out a Maruti Van, informed the secretary.
Regarding a third accused namely Lunminthang Kipgen of Bongbal, Gogou said Lunminthang reached the KNF (N) Base Camp in June 2013 before leaving the said Camp as he himself 'though unfit to serve the Kuki Nation in its political movement' .
Therefore, he was neither issues any duty nor Army number allotted for him to become an active KNF (N) member, said the secretary adding that Lunminthang's activities are not recognised under any circumstances.
