CM Ibobi deplores violence

Conceding that of late Manipur has been besieged with major problems, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh deplored that undesired incidents have been hindering smooth and expeditious implementation of various development works.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion of 'National Re-dedication Day' observance at 1st Manipur Rifles Banquet Hall today, he called upon the people to pledge for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur.
Conveying that National Re-dedication Day is observed every year to commemorate the death anniversary of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the CM pointed out that the first woman Prime Minister of India dedicated her life to promote peace and make the country a vibrant nation.
Speaking at the occasion, Home Minister Gaikhangam said for a prosperous nation every citizen should be prepared to face any eventualities and sacrifice for the betterment of the country.
Even though the event had the attendance of the CM and the Home Minister most of seats in the banquet hall remained unoccupied as only a handful of Ministers, bureaucrats or police officers were present.
